See the storm around them rages,
Hardened men are in despair.
Strong hands shake the sleeping saviour,
Asking why he doesn't care.
With a word he stills the tempest
As the great creator can,
And the fear now turns to terror
While they ask 'Who is this man?'
Four friends bring a paralytic
Hoping for Christ's healing hand.
Go in peace, your sins forgiven,
Is the Saviour's firm command.
Then he answers words unspoken
As the thoughts of men he scans,
Dealing with the accusations
In their mind: 'Who is this man?'
Through the ages Christ confronts us:
'Who do men say that I am?'
Moral teacher? Noble leader?
Son of God? Atoning lamb?
This the most important question
Ever asked since time began.
Your eternal future rests on
Answering 'Who is this man?'
