In your ways I was directed,
Taught from infancy your word.
Yet, my sinful heart rejected
All the gracious things I'd heard.
Worthless things my heart preferred.
Far from sovereign grace I wandered,
Tasting sin of every sort.
'Til at last, when all was squandered,
Lost, convicted and distraught,
Hope of mercy
From my Father's hand I sought.
Turning back in true repentance,
Seeking just a servants place,
I received a glorious entrance,
Robe and ring with love's embrace.
Praise the Saviour!
Thank him for this feast of grace!
