You found me in a desert land,
A barren emptiness.
You guided me with your right hand
Into your safe caress.
Now sheltered there from everything,
As in an eagle's nest,
I'm hidden underneath your wing,
With all your goodness blessed.
But now I find that nest is stirred,
My comforts are all gone.
And all the grace on me conferred
Appears to be withdrawn.
The trials I face are your design,
You bring this darkened sky.
Yet you assure me you are mine
And with you bid me fly.
I spread my wings and heed the call,
I place my faith in you.
Your mercy holds me when I fall,
You will my soul renew.
For all your blessings freely giv'n
My praise to you I pour,
And through my journey towards Heav'n
My soul with you will soar.
