Lord, You have been our home through times gone by.
Before our fathers on the earth had trod,
You formed the world and built the mountains high.
From everlasting, and forever, God.
From clay You formed us, breathed, and made us men.
A thousand years are in Your sight a day.
As generations turn to dust again,
Like withered grass, they all are swept away.
Trembling, we in Your awesome presence stand.
All of our sins lie bare before Your eyes.
Our hope of mercy lies within Your hand.
May Your compassion with the morning rise.
Though wrath is great, and causes us to fear,
The cross of Christ Your anger turns aside.
The Spirit irresistibly draws near,
And in unfailing love and grace we hide.
Lord, let Your favour on our families rest.
In this new year, may we Your work pursue.
And our endeavours, Lord, be pleased to bless,
As we give all the glory back to You.

Alternate last verse for Queen’s birthday
Lord, let your beauty rest upon our Queen.
May she rejoice in gladness all her days.
In her life may your glory now be seen,
And may her children learn to sing your praise.
